This delightful roaring 20's collection presents ballerinas who have been created to dance the very traditional roles associated with Cinderella, but designed from a very unique point of view, that of the 1920's and the ever popular deco look. The Roaring 20's Cinderella Doll is Cinderella transformed dressed as she is in a very traditionally 20's way, in a straight, shift style dress that is so evocative of the time. The light pink dress, made from layers of georgette, is worn under a pale blue brocade coat that has a shawl collar and which is edged in white 'fur'. This pale, blonde, blue-eyed beauty, with her nude satin slippers and glissenette tights, will certainly have the prince seeking her out. But that wasn't always the case. Her Poor Cinderella outfit tells the story of a different day, when she was a scullery maid and dressed only in a simple beige frock. Sadder days! However, despite the fact that she'd never go back, Cinderella doesn't want to forget where she came from and what she's been through so she has purchased an addition to her dressing room, a dress form. And she has placed her Poor Cinderella dress on it so as to always remember where she's been. (Poor Cinderella outfit is included with Cinderella. The dress form is separate.) Doll is a 2007 release. Doll is released in a limited edition of 350 pieces. Doll is 10" tall. Doll is part of the Roaring 20's Cinderella collection.
Madame Alexander's gift for creating beautiful dolls cannot be attributed solely to her celebrated costume designs, or the detailed painting and accessorizing each doll is noted for. The Alexander Doll Company is also renowned for its superior face sculpts, and throughout their history, distinctive face sculpts have been used to create a myriad of dolls. Indeed, the creation of each doll begins with its face, and each face sculpt is a singular work of art. Today, the Madame Alexander Doll Company offers different face sculpts. From each face, their designers are able to create countless different characters and styles.
